Tell us a little bit about your background and how you started your career in the oilfield.
I grew up in Washington State, have a BS from Central Washington University, played rugby there as well, and a Master Degree from Mississippi State University. I have been married for nearly 2 years, my wife Nikki is a school psychologist in the Oak Harbor School district. I started my oilfield career as a directional driller for Halliburton and continued that position with Schlumberger drilling 3-D horizontal wells in US Land, deep-water North Sea & West Africa.

What is your favorite part about working for HXR?
My favorite part of working for HXR is being a team member versus a number. The team environment fosters innovation and provides a network of experts that allows the greatest opportunities for success. This also provides a dynamic learning environment which I have not found in any other company I’ve worked for.
What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with HXR?
Continue to build on our successes as a company and to help grow HXR into a powerful resource that operators around the globe look to for pushing their operations to the next level.
How do you balance your career at HXR and family?
My wife is very supportive of me and my involvement with HXR. She understands that a small business needs more attention from its employees, even when they are technically “on days off.”
What do you enjoy doing on your time off?
I enjoy snowboarding, hunting & fishing with friends and family.
